Big boost Circular Plastics and Rubber Program

The Dutch Circular Plastics research project, part of the Sustainable MaterialsNL programme, will receive a conditional contribution of 220 million from the National Growth Fund from the Ministry of Economic Affairs. This was announced on April 14.
The national cooperation project Sustainable MaterialsNL is intended to support the development and application of sustainable and circular materials, especially circular plastics. The recycling market is growing strongly, also due to rules for a minimum percentage of recycled plastic in products.
The Federation of the Dutch Rubber and Plastics Industry (NRK) expects this contribution will help the sector to continue the development of sustainability in the coming years. At the same time, the NRK regrets not the entire plan has been approved. That is why, according to the NRK, it will be difficult to spend a budget on all six core themes. Nevertheless, the sector remain fully committed to making it more sustainable, the NRK stated.
