May 2, 2024 – Lightweight construction is seen as a key technology of the future. It makes an important contribution to increasing competitiveness and achieving climate and sustainability objectives. However, even renewable raw materials will become scarce as they are used to manufacture an increasing number of products and the world population continues to grow. That requires smart strategies. Fraunhofer WKI presented several of its projects, focusing on resource-efficient lightweight constructions using renewable raw materials.
