April 10, 2026 – ViliaSprint², Europe’s largest 3D-printed apartment complex, is complete. With a width of 11 meters, a length of 34 meters, and a height of 9 meters, each floor offers 350 m² of usable space. The 3D printing was carried out directly on the construction site using a robotic gantry system, the COBOD BOD2 from PERI 3D Construction. The load-bearing exterior and interior walls were built up layer by layer by extruding concrete. The printable concrete, developed by Holcim based on TectorPrint technology, was reinforced with synthetic macrofibers to ensure optimal structural properties. It falls under the CO₂-reducing ECOPact range and enables an emission reduction of at least 30 percent compared to conventional concrete.
