From paper pulp waste to wall cladding
October 20, 2024 – The paper industry produces millions of tons of cellulose fibers that, after several recycling cycles, become too short to be reused through conventional methods. These fibers are often sent to landfills or incinerated, resulting in millions of tons of unrecycled paper waste. A new partnership between the Dutch company FRONT and Barcelona-based Alted Materials has now introduced Paper Waste Panels: interior wall cladding panels made from paper pulp waste. This innovative process enables the production of 100 square meters of wall cladding from 722 kilograms of landfill-bound waste.
Paper Waste Panels are fully recyclable, non-toxic, and created from fibers that would otherwise be discarded. These panels primarily consist of waste from the paper industry and post-consumer cardboard and are produced through a certified circular process that upcycles discarded fibers into high-quality, sustainable materials.
