January 28, 2025 – Researchers from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) have developed a method to reinforce bone tissue by injecting hydrogel directly into it.
According to EPFL, tests conducted on rats suggest that this technique holds promise for future fracture prevention therapies in osteoporosis patients.
The study’s findings were published in the scientific journal Bone under the title ‘Combining Systemic and Local Osteoporosis Treatments: A Longitudinal In Vivo MicroCT Study in Ovariectomized Rats.’
